What is SPSS analysis method?

In the research of SPSS analysis, data collection technique by questionnaire, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The population of the research consists of call center employees of a company in the telecommunications sector. Data were obtained from 401 participants selected by random sampling method between November-December 2019. By using the research findings SPSS 23.00, behavioral tendencies and risk taking levels of investors were measured with descriptive statistics and correlation (relationship), regression (effect) and t-test (difference) analyzes related to behavioral finance and risk taking level were made.

According to the results of the research, it was observed that the behavioral finance tendencies of the participants on their investment decisions were close to a high level (3,629). As the behavioral finance attitudes of the participants increase, their level of financial risk taking also increases. 91% of the variation in the level of risk taking is explained by the behavioral finance disposition. (R=0.955, 𝑹𝟐=𝟎,𝟗𝟏𝟐). At the same time, it was determined that men’s financial risk tolerance scores were higher than women’s.

Traditional finance theories, which assume that people always make rational decisions, do not take into account which psychological, sociological and even neurological factors are affected by investors when making investment decisions. This research has also shown that people do not act mechanically while making investment decisions. The psychological and sociological environments they are in affect their decisions. This may cause them to make many biased and non-objective decisions, as well as increase their risk-taking scores.
